spam issues defensio, askimet, austriaka's reply to comment addon

Hi there guys!
I have been having some very painful issues with askimet specially where it doesn't matter how much i report spams to it, it doesn't seem to learn rapidly or at any speed for that matter, from the mistakes it makes.

So, I tired using Defensio with works AWESOMELY! but when I do use it for some reason it brakes Austriaka's reply to comment addon - which is currently being used.
so basically Defensio fixes my problem but causes a new one which askimet does not create but obviously its not combating the spam as well as defensio.

So here are a few questions/request?
1-Can someone please look into this so that perhaps both reply to comment and defensio can work together?
2- what is REALLY reporting as spam to Askimet and simply "report spam" which one is better over the other?
any help, would be great!

Austrakia wrote both the Akismet and the reply-to-comment addon, so they work well together.

I wrote Defensio and I'm aware that I need to update that addon to work with it. Perhaps Austrakia can point it out (again) because at the moment I have no clue.

I am sorry, it has been a long while when I wrote those Addons...
It is not so easy to bring Defensio and Reply-To-Comment Addon together, because of some front workspaces of Akismet Addon the Reply-To-Comments-Addon uses.

The main thing is that the Reply-To-Comments Addon has to be preformed AFTER the Spam check. Akismet sets its own front workspaces after performing the spam check (comment_passed_askimet and comment_blocked_askimet) which are used afterwards by the Reply-To-Comment Addon.
If the Reply-To_Comment Addon would use only the common "comment_accepted" workspace, Replies are not checked by the Spam Filter (what means that not only you have spam comments in your Blog but the Author of the replied comment receives a spam email too).

Defensio does not have these workspaces because it is thought to be the very last action performed in working on comments. If Dennis could bring in workspaces similar to comment_passed_askimet and comment_blocked_askimet, it would be easy to update the Replies-To-Comment Addon for working with Defensio OR Akismet, depending which one is installed.

But I really wonder why you are so unsatisfied with Akismet: I am working with Akismet since 2 years now and have no problems at all. Of course I use the other Pixelpost's built-in spam defensions too (TOKEN, URL-restriction...)

Austriaka, I see your point on how defensio is not workable yet.
as far as dissatisfaction it really comes and goes. askimet does a good job overall, it blocks over 100 spams a day but quite often it does let some good 20+ slide.
i keep reporting the same spams to it and it just doesnt seem to learn from its mistake as fast as i wish to. One funny thing is is that these spams are somehow only reaching very specific images within the blog and askimet keeps on missing them and therefore they get published.
as far as the tonke goes, i may have that turned off, i have to check, i think it was giving me some troubles at some other point.
any thougts about this and in genera?
