Editing the "About" section...

Sorry if this seems like an elementary question, but I just can't figure how to edit the "About" section, nor to add sections of my own choosing. Basically, customization in general is beyond me. I can't find anything through the admin panel. Anybody able to help?

Is there a way to access this file from my pixelpost admin page? Or must I go to my webhosting service to edit the file? If so, I don't really have any .html skills. Is there another way to do it? The pixelpost admin page is really easy to make new posts, but as far as customization goes, where should I start?

it works with the current version (i use it), but you must customize a html-template for it. without a little bit basic html skills you have no chance.

You can change text very easily, just by replacing what you want. If you want further customization though then .html knowledge is very useful.

is there any way i can take the html code from my website and import it into a program such as iweb, and work with it from there? i have iweb and it does not require knowledge of html, but it does allow html input. can it let you input html and alter the code without actually knowing html by using the software itself?

There is an addon that was created by Tommaso and enhanced by dwilkinsjr called the About Text addon (catchy name, eh?). It was never included in the Extend section (*hint, hint*) but can still be found in this thread (http://www.pixelpost.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6591), with 2 versions available, one in post 9 and one in post 10.

Here's how to implement it:

1. Copy all of the code in the code box and save it as admin_about_text.php and upload it to your addons folder.

2. You'll need to edit your about_template.html file to add the <ABOUT_TEXT> tag. If you let me know which template you are using I can tell you what code can be deleted.

3. Log into your PP admin area, go to the Addons section and enable the About Text addon. You will then see on the Addons page in the About Text addon section a text box where you can enter/edit the information on your About page right from your PP admin. This box accepts regular text and html code. This information is saved to your database.

I use this to manage my About page and it is much simpler than editing the template file every time I want to make a change.
