Hey, have searched through the forum and haven't found anything addressing this error. I have uploaded the pixelpost files and when I navigate to ...admin/install.php I get this message. "The requested language was not found!" Has anyone experienced this before? I am new to this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

i, too, am having the same problem... i did everything the installation guide said to do. i created the db and uploaded the package, but when i went to access /admin/install.php, there was nothing there but an error message, "The requested language was not found!" i accessed the root folder, and it said, "Connect DB Error: Cause #1..." please help us? thanks :-)

The requested language was not found means exactly that. It cannot find the languages. This can be due to two major problems:

1) the files aren't in the correct folder.
2) the files cannot be accessed
3) the hosting company has prohibited inclusion of files

For 1 the fix is easy, just upload the folderstructure inside the zip package at http://www.pixelpost.org.

For 2 we have to search a bit deeper. What is the current chmod setting of one of the language files?

We don't have to check 3 since we haven't excluded 2 being a problem.

i believe my files are all in the right locations. i just basically dragged and dropped them into the folder /blog, and when accessing it, i type: /blog/admin/install.php

the chmod setting is 644... does that need to be changed?

Actually just solved this problem with a little help from a private mail. Turns out that some of my files went missing during the ftp upload. Not sure exactly how but I was missing the language files in the admin folder. Just re-uploaded and everything is fine.

Gino, check you have installed /admin/install/language lang-install-english.php

and thanks Trauko for the hint.
