I appreciate your offer and can understand your post. I guess I was getting frustrated and felt my lack of knowledge in MySQL would kill my attempt. Here is what I have done so far:
I have downloaded and unzipped everything. I went into Ready Hosting>MySQL Management and set up a database named “edward_swartz”. I use FTP to upload all the content in the folder to my server. I have down loaded it to the main section where all my html pages are and can see everything in there. I opened the pixelpost_v1.1.7 folder and uploaded each folder/file. I put the following into the browser and hit “search”:
www.edwardswartz.com/(photoblog_edward_swartz)/admin/install.php.
I get a “page cannot be found” message.
Have I done or missed something to do in a database or change a file? Does something need to be done in the database? Since I am going to make this my site and no longer my “past” site, do I need to remove my index.html page?

Hmm. I don't think the process of installing Pixelpost could really be pared down and made any simpler than it already is.
Maybe just try doing each step and when you hit a snag come here and post a specific question - I think people would be better able to help you if there was a specific problem to address.
Feel free to email me at marinerwon {@} gmail dot com and I may be able to help you out.

If you are installing Pixelpost into the main folder for your website, then the link to the install script should be:
http://www.edwardswartz.com/admin/install.php
Try that and see if that works for you.

Yes, I am up and running. Now I just need to tweak it. If I select a color when viewing it in a browser, does it stay that way for everyone or some special setting I need to do?
Also, how do I update my "About" section? I have looked everywhere in Admin.
Thanks for the help. This is going to be so better then my other website. Less fuss and less work.
Awesome!

The Simple template defaults to the Light stylesheet. Each user selects which color they want and that choice is included in a cookie on their computer.
You will have to edit the about_template.html file in the Simple template to change the information on your About page. Use a plain text editor (like Notepad) to edit the file.
You might also read this post (http://www.pixelpost.org/forum/showpost.php?p=63496&postcount=9) about another way to update your About section in the admin by using the addon linked in the post.
