Stupid me, I had the wrong version of the addon loaded. I must have downloaded it from the site, not knowing the new version was already in the addons folder for the 1.7...

the index.php looks like it resides in the main...

the index.php looks like it resides in the main folder, whereas the paged_archive.php resides in the addons folder.
