I suspect a lot of comments are due to people thinking that leaving a comment and link to their photoblog will drive up their Google pagerank (and I hold hands up here as one guilty of this).

Are you using Defensio? For some reason, I found that slowed down my pages drastically, as well as the Pixelpost admin panel. I switched to Akismet and all works fine.

My favourites would be Option 1 or Option 8 - though on the latter I'd keep the ff the same colour as the rest of the text; doesn't serve any purpose or attract attention as it is.
