Markdown Missing (I think)

Markdown isn't working for me. Then I checked, and it looks like my image template doesn't have any reference to markdown. I used the Pepper template to make what I'm using now. Am I missing something, or was Markdown not working in this template? Can anyone tell me what I need to change exactly and where?
