Update Entry Errors

hi.
so, I get three error messages when I try to update an image file an older entry through the images->edit page. I get the same error if I use the Thumbs Regenerator addon... This is the error:
Quote:
Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Utime failed: Permission denied in /home/consciou/public_html/blink/includes/functions.php on line 154

Warning: imagejpeg() [function.imagejpeg]: Unable to open '../thumbnails/thumb_1_SaveYourSky.jpg' for writing in /home/consciou/public_html/blink/includes/functions.php on line 155

Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in /home/consciou/public_html/blink/includes/functions.php on line 157
It will update the fullsize image on the entry page, but the thumbnail is not updated. My specs here:

Hmm, so the thumbnail folder itself is set at 777, but all of the thumbnail files themselves are set at 644. If I try to change them, Transmit gives says it couldn't change the permissions and this:

Error -142: remote chmod failed

Why would they be locked like that? Do I need to go in through my cPanel or what?

the permissions for each individual thumb shouldn't be a problem. so don't worry about that as long as your folder is 777. also, is your images folder 777 as well?
