Shortest day this side of the equator

Interesting project, hope it does well and gets entries from many varied locations.

Yes surely in the southern hemisphere June 21 will be the shortest day of the year. Nice idea though - maybe I will join in!

Hey nygorilla - next week I will be in your part of the world - in Cairns - any suggestions for good places for photos?

Cairns is beautiful - its where the rainforest meets the reef.

You sure will not have too much trouble finding interesting things. Make sure you get out of town though. Kurranda rail, Mossman gorge, Port Douglas, trip to Green island all worth it.

Sorry ppl for hijacking the thread. PM me if you want more ideas...
