I know there are no work spaces on user side
ok I will be more specific - I want to write a CAPTCHA for comments as an addon - I can and have currently done it by adding lines validating to the correct place in index.php and adding the img tag + input field in the comment form... it works but it is not as elegant as I would like it to be... So if there was a workspace declaration where comments are saved then just a function and a tag like <CAPTCHA> in the comments template would be a clean solution. I can look at the code and figure out in a few hours but hey it is Christmas - please share

1)
well, don't hack index.php because you will overwrite that all the time when updating 2) you can stop a really big deal of spam with using PP 1.4.3 or better, PP 1.5BETA because most commentspam which is not entered using the comment form but entered by automatic scripts etc. will not be entered into PP anymore but if you absolutely want a captcha, you can use the addon which I wrote once, for studying 3) we are just finishing 1.5 Final and so we will not open "new playgrounds" in the moment, I hope you understand 4) I once wrote an Addon which added a captcha to the comment-form it worked, but one user reported that one of his users had difficulties with that captcha recognising the input-letters... I did not follow that anymore but it worked so it is possible to do that all I can share with you for christmas (It is not christmas now, it will be in 4 days!!!) is the addon which I wrote long time ago: download it here: http://www.hafenfotografen.de/downlo...addon_v101.zip |

i urge you to write your hacks in a separate file, and then include() that file, it makes things much easier in the future
![]() the comment engine is part of Pixelpost that does need work, as far as addons go. so fingers crossed for future releases

heh, well we've got to finish working on 1.5beta1, then release 1.5stable, then we'll go back to discussing improvements.
personally i'm bringing saved comment popup templates to the table. there's a possibility that workspaces might be brought into the main index.php file, but we'll have to compartmentalise the file more fluently first, possibly export some more of the code to functions, comment it some more, and generally just neaten it up. so don't expect big additions tomorrow, but if you have suggestions for the future either post them in a relevant area of the board, of bring them to me directly. in the mean time, enjoy the new facilities in version 1.5beta, and keep testing it! we can't move forwards until we've finalised 1.5. |

Question
With the new admin-addons, I could write a page for my admin panel that is for contributors and have that information go on my main page? Ok wow thats worderd really poorly. This is what I am trying to do
I want to have a website where people contribute photos, It would be cool if I could enter in their name and other information on the admin page and have this information show up in different places in my main image template. It would be even MORE cool that after I enter in the information in the admin page a profile for them could be created and I could link it to a page on my site. Is this possible. If it is confusing let me know. I ramble. |
