Alternative front page...and pagination?

i'm looking for a way to have a different page for my frontpage instead of going straight to an image. I'd like a page with a bit of recent news, other info and whatever else I may put there. Is this possible with pixelpost? Maybe theres a way to make the index page default to the about page without using a redirect.

Also I was wondering if its possible to use pagination for the thumbnails so they're not all on the page at once...?

first off you can probably solve your first problem by simply creatng an index.html file in your photoblog directory.

in regards to the thumbnails check out the tags for paged archive.php.
