about search bots

it's annoying that search bots keep on visit your site frequently. the vistor number will increase anyway , but the mysql database will increase at the same time, and is full of useless info.

adding rootbot.txt in the root will stop the search bots, but also your site will not be searched by them.

can we add something before save the visitor info?
before book visitor in function.php :
if the referer host contains "google bots,spiders....", then we will not save the visitor info.

can this works?

Pixelpost Anti-Spam (referer_spam - version 1.0) - status: ON (ADDONS page in your admin.)

Here you can add the names of bots, just look in your refferer table what there names are and click update banlist and then click clean referers.
