GZIP Compression

I was wondering why GZIP compression isn't configurable from the admin.

I always enable it, saves a lot of data.

Remember that photoblogs transfer mainly images which is hard to compress more then JPEG and what is suggested to not compress in GZIP between server and browser. GZIP is cool for text sites (pure CSS, JS, (X)HTML, ...).

BTW It uses more CPU power then without compression.

PS In many server enviroments you can set it on manualy if admin has added to server correct mod and gives so much rights to users.
