Smile how to make a folder as a host?

I have a host running with name www.jdleungs.com, and there is many free space left.

I'm going to register another domain name and direct it to a folder of the present host, such as www.jdleungs.com/mynewsitefolder/

question is:
after going to www.mynewsite.com/,all links will be www.mynewsite.com/mynewsitefolder/...

is it possible to keep displaying www.mynewsite.com/...?

I know there is a setting to hide the url, but the url keeps unchange whereever you go, users cannot bookmark the exact page. and also all the links still shows www.mynewsite.com/mynewsitefolder/... on status bar.

can anyone help? thanks.

it depends how you register the domain

is it a redirect, is it a frame-redirect...
some providers offer "addon-domains" which will directed directly to the folder of the "main-domain" and they will never show the "top-domain/folder" in the browser-title

if the provider doesn't offer this, how to do that?

change the provider, I would say, for around 5$ you get these... I know for sure that siteground.com offers all these possibility and they give you 40GB!

eleven2.com for sure offers similar features

eleven2.com does offer this, but most hosts should allow addon domains no matter what.

Hello, my first question I ask myself and now you is, why wont you ask your provider/hoster to help you? If I have a problem with my webspace I ask my hoster/provider (all-inkl.com), the cost for me is only a telephone call.

Normaly it should no problem for your hoster/provider to point your new domain to a folder of your first domain.

If it allready point to the folder you only have to change the .htaccess file that the server show this www.mynewsite.com/...? instead of this www.mynewsite.com/mynewsitefolder/...?, but that should your provider/hoster do for you.

Regards,
Patrick
