Pixelpost is photoblog software. Main aspect of it is to give option of showing images. Additionaly it have description option. There is no place for news because image description is a news.
Thats all from my point of view :P

Without the blog engine (which is really not necessary, there are perfect alternatives to combine like Wordpress or Textpattern yet), having all the other functions would be wunderful

I voted for the database backup tool, cause it would be an easy way to do a really complete backup (not only saving the files), also for inexperienced users.

yes, we know, we know... we have plans to update the startsite and to integrate better download sections etc.

but demo mode? I fear that will not be possible... who will administer this? As you see we have 3000 users here.. but how many are active and supporting?

a small number of nice guys...
