Problem connecting to Database

When trying to Install Pixelpost on a friends server (hosted on godaddy) i get this:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/e/l/a/elasio/html/pixelpost_1-5/admin/install.php on line 40
Error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

And apparently i cannot reach the mysql.sock file to change it.

your hoster must help you, we cannot help you

what kind of server, which version of database etc.
did you read the requirements in the readme-file?

ask your hoster to tell you whether this requirements are accomplished at your webspace or not

Make sure you have your DB info correct in pixelpost.php! I use godaddy and haven't had any problems connecting to the database.

Usually that error means that the DB server is not running but it could be other things too.

Talk with godaddy and see what they have to say, then report your findings.

(godaddy does not use "localhost", this was the problem)
