Did you change the quotes around localhost from single quotes to double quotes?

yeah.. it seems like golive really isnt doing favours. ill redo the lot. hopefully it will work this time. ive been frustrated over this a long time now. ripping my hair out

just a simple reinstall + standalone ftp (cyberduck) done the trick
