Pixelpost v1.7 RC1 - Now Available

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am pleased to announce the immediate release of Pixelpost v1.7 Release Candidate 1!

What does this mean to me?

If you're the kind of person who likes to live life on the edge so to speak, you can now download Pixelpost 1.7 before we release the public version later next week.

Is this like a BETA or something?
No, not quite. It's a release candidate, which means, if nobody finds any serious bugs in this RC, we will use that as the official public version.

So it's VERY important to post your results here, especially if you encounter any bugs/errors.

So, what are you waiting for... download the RC and let us know what you think!

I was able to upgrade with very few problems., though I'm sure there would have only been one if I'd actually read the upgrade instructions.

Could you explain what problems you had, that way we can possibly resolve that issue?

Hm. Updated to 1.7 and now I cant access my addons menu.

I uploaded the new files, did the /admin/install.php-thingie, logged back in and no add-on menu. The rest seems to be working fine.

Try going to /admin/index.php?view=addons&errorsall
See what "fatal error" it reports, and post it here.

Sure. The biggest problem was that I didn't delete the akismet addon before upgrading, so after doing so, the addon page was essentially blank. I went back and re-read the documentation and realized I had missed the part about deleting those addons, so I did and that fixed that issue.

The other problem that I had was that my images wouldn't show. When I checked the general information tab in the admin panel, the guessed imagepath and the configured imagepath were the same, but the guessed thumbnailpath was the full server path, and the configured thumbnailpath was ../thumbnails. I changed the configured imagepath to ../images, and my photos were visible again.

Did you delete the Akismet Addon files within the root Addons directory as adviced in the upgrade documentation? Most likely this causes the error.

We thought about replacing the old Akismet files by blank files so no error comes up after upgrading, but of course most people then will forget to delete them...

- Custom Fields addon - version 0.9.1 - OK.!
- Admin FlashCropImage - version 1.0 - OK.!
- Admin Image Statistics - version 2.0 - OK.!
- DBManager - version 1.0 - OK.!
- Ajax Categories manager - version 0.9 - NOT WORKING.!

will keep an eye on the Upgrade and update any thing i see in the upcomming days..
