about <IMAGE_CATEGORY_PAGED> with paged archive addon

Can I link from the image_template to the right page where the image can be found and highlighted?
When I use this tag <IMAGE_CATEGORY_PAGED> I only get a link to page 1, even the image is on another page..

I was just wondering why the cat link doesn't take me to the right page.. or does this need a hack?
What is the use of all the SOME_TAG_PAGED tags when they just take you to page 1?
