'Connect DB Error: Cause #1'..index could not display

Hi,

Today when i tried to visit my site, i found the index page turns to be:

PIXELPOST
Authentic Photoblog Flavour
Welcome to this Pixelpost powered photoblog!
Clearly this photoblog is not working at the moment.
Visitors:
Come back later! Everything's gonna be fine.

Error Message:
Connect DB Error: Cause #1
Possible Causes:
The most possible cause is that the photoblog is not installed yet. If you are the administrator of this photoblog, follow the installation instructions and browse to the admin page.
There might be a database connection problem that prevent this website to work properly. This can be caused by wrong db configuration in the admin side (file: includes/pixelpost.php) or the MySQL server might not reponding to Pixelpost's requests. Make sure that you have followed installation procedure in setting up database connection for Pixelpost.
If the problem is from server's side, mostly it would be resolved in few secods. Be patient. Contact your host administrator or visit pixelpost support forum if problem persists.

I found i could log on to the ADMIN page, and i checked 'includes/pixelpost.php', the DB info is correct. And also i connected my DB via phpmyadmin sucessfully.

Anyone could advise me what happened??

Then i re-installed PP1.7.1 again to another folder. The newer installed one works fine.

Then i delete all the old PP1.7.1 from root folder, and cut the newer installed one to root folder.


Then the 'Connect DB error' happens again! Seems the error just for my root domain.....


Really dont know why? Anyone could kindly advise?

Contact your ISP to get their support. It looks like they are using some special security solution at your server.

I also have this issue following upgrading. I have used two different ISPs and the same problem. The admin site works, but no access to the index and output. I do not really understand how the admin can work, and not the output, depending on ISP, especially when it worked before upgrading. And additional troublefixing suggestions?

When you upgraded, did you remember to upload the new version of index.php that sits in the main PP folder?

Just had the same error message. What I forgot to upload were the index.html files in the images and thumbnails folders. They were not there in previous versions and seem to be required now for PP to work.

phild, that is not correct. Those files are still mandatory, but were put there to prevent open dir browsing.
