To be an addon: Collage

Do you guys know any good script for automatic collage in PHP?
I was thinking about making a new collage addon for pixelpost.

I'm also thinking of something cool by using the EXIF table. Doing some simple clustering we can create nice collage.

Perhaps the Photo Mosaic addon by Kevin Crafts is what you are looking for?

not exactly but similar. I was looking for layers in HTML with some alpha channel effect or something like that.

new progress

OK I found this soft edge script interesting
http://cssglobe.com/post/1344/soft-e...-gradients-for
and we can add this to what kevincrafts showed me

and use clustering on EXIF data to build an organized collage.

Apparently the png fix I put in for IE isn't working so I need to get that worked out. Plus I don't like the way it builds in firefox, so I'm going to see if I can find a way to make it look better - looks nice in safari though. I'll send the code when it's ready.

I think the softedges work for square and rectangles that are oriented correctly, but it won't work with the rotated images.

If so we can do both and see which one is better. If we can't do rotation maybe we can make some images bigger than other that would make good visual effect. Use the rating or the number of comment to figure out how important (popular) that photo is and make emphasis on that.

OK now the summer has come I have some time to do with this addon. Currenlty I made the K-Means clustering work in PHP. I cluster images into 5 groups based on their exposure time and F-number. I want to show them in a structure like this pentagon

Is it a good idea?

Raminia, I also use K-means clustering for the googlemap addon.
