Problem with contact form addon

Hello, i use the delicious template and i would like to install a contact form in my "about" section.
So i have download the file "contact form addon", I have put the php file in the addon folder and the html file in my template folder.
But i don't understand really how to configure it.

I am also experiencing a problem with this addon; I only just installed it (1 hour ago) and I already recieved 7 spam mails..

I thing i could help.
Use the above line:

<a href="/index.php?x=contact_form" title="contact form">contact</a>

and

Just replace the words 'contact form' (in the title attribute) and 'contact' to suit your needs.

I don't quite see how that would help prevent spam?
