import from wordpress

Has there been any resolution on this? I am having the same problem. I know the folder and info is right, I checked the images folder permissions. But I keep getting an error that it can't copy but it doesn't say why.

To my knowledge, there has been no resolution to this. I do know that the existing Import From Wordpress addon does NOT work with PP 1.7.1 - it causes the addons page to go completely blank. It was written 2 years ago, and both WordPress and PixelPost have undergone several updates, which would make this addon incompatible with the current versions of both.

To import images, you can use the default Copy Folder addon or the Copy Folder w/Titles and Descriptions addon, to import images with the titles and descriptions. There is also an addon called Backwards Photo Dater that might be useful in importing images. Please be aware that there is an issue with the filename sort order in both Copy Folder addons that does not properly copy the images to the database in filename order when using the filename sort option. There are a couple of posts in this forum with solutions to the filename sort order issue.

You can mass-edit the images to set the proper categories using the Ajax Categories Manager addon.

There is no addon (that I'm aware of) to import your existing comments from a Wordpress blog. You would have to heavily modify a backup of your comments table from WP to create an SQL file in proper format to import into the PP database - a pretty complicated process.
