upload of images taking a REALLY long time

i upload an image, and it just says waiting for my site in the status bar of my browser for like 5-10 minutes. if open a new tab and visit the site after a few minutes, the photo shows up and i can eventually close the original tab which is still waiting!

what do i do! ive tried fresh installs of pixelpost to see if it was my server, but i think its something in my database causing the program to hang. any ideas on what to check?

What is the size of the image you're trying to upload in kilobytes?

less then 2 megs. i have checked my php upload limit and its set to 20megs.

Well, depending on your broadband upload speed and server speed this could take a while. My suggestion would be to resize the images prior to uploading. I found 200kb to work pretty nicely.
