Question Promote coming up blank

Hi all,

I've tried using the Promote addon on both my local development server and my existing site and am having some trouble. I can't get Promote to show me anything.

I went so far as to create a blank page and just include the <script> as described. But when I load that page, it's blank. On my local server, there are 3 posted photos in PP, and everything there works fine. Same with my real online site.

This is what's on my test page:
Code:
before<script src="http://localhost/photoblog/index.php?x=promote&type=latest&total=2&showtitle=yes"></script>after
It gives me a blank page with the words "before" and "after" and nothing else.

Is there something I'm missing in my PP configuration? I haven't edited any of the PP core files and the rest of PP works great and promote.php is in my addon directory as required.

And this may be informative or not, I'm not sure, but when I just enter that link in the script into my browser window, I get a 404 error, saying "The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server."

What am I missing?

Many thanks for all your help!

matt

That's because I didn't remove my promote template file when I rewrote the addon. I have fixed this issue (and tested it) and you can download it here: http://www.pixelpost.org/extend/addo...lpost-promote/

Let me know if you still have any issues.

Thanks so much, that fixed it!

I would only suggest that the text in promote.php get updated so that the usage instructions seen in PP match what is seen on the download page -- the part about needing to wrap it in a <script> tag.

Thanks again!
