I'm new to this forum, and first of all I'd like to say Hi to everyone !
I'm a Pixelpost user for just a couple of months. I'm using version 1.7.1, which installed with no problems. Just recently I've been having problems uploading pictures to my photoblog. If I do it from the Admin Panel using "New Image" it will give the following message: "Error Something's wrong in file upload, Images folder not writable". This surprises me since I have already posted several photos and never had issues until now. I haven't made changes to my folder setttings. They are CHMOD set to 777. I normally uploaded via FTP to a folder that I copied using the "Copy Folder" addon with no problems at all. Now, of course, it doesn't work either. It says "0 Files Copied". I'm hoping I can obtain a few answers, and possibly a solution to this issue. I'd aprreciate any help ! Thanks in advance ! |

Hi, the detection of the images folders are writable may not work correctly on your server. Could you check the images folder and thumbnails folder with your FTP software just to make sure they are indeed chmod 0777?

Thanks for your reply !. I did a test and copied one file into the images folder with no problem using my ftp client.

Uploading a file into the images folder by means of FTP was never the issue. Please check the folder settings (not by copying a file, when you're using FTP no matter what the settings of a specific folder is you can always copy stuff in there.)
If you're on Windows, you might want to try right clicking on the images folder and choose properties. (It is hard to say how to access that information without knowledge of the specific FTP client).

Sorry ! I use FTP Commander. It does not have a properties option when you right-click. But in the attributes column it shows: drwxrwxrwx
Checked again with FileZilla and verified File permissions for the images folder, and it is 777. Last edited by grazhopr; 01-11-2009 at 12:31 AM. Reason: added line |

What is the size on disk of the images you're trying to upload?

Thanks for your reply Dennis+.
I'm waiting for a response from my host on this issue. My control panel shows usage of 32 MB, while the max allowed is 100 MB. It doesn't show a max allowable per folder. Again, I'm totally ignorant on servers and hosts, so I maybe looking at the wrong direction. I'll let you know. Thanks again !!! |

Well, I managed to upload new pictures to the blog, but the thumbnails aren't there. In the settings I specify the folders where the images and the thumbs are supposed to be. I can see each individual picture, but If I go to the thumbnails, they don't show.
I've been thinking about erasing all from the server and re-installing. But I'm not sure if I will mess it all up for the worse. |

you do have the thumbnails folder and images folder in your setup set as:
../images/ ../thumbnails/ ?
