Which JavaScript Framework?

Hello fellow Pixelpost users and developers, I have a question for you! If Pixelpost were to include a JavaScript framework which would you prefer, or do you even care?

This isn't a scientific poll, I'm just wondering what the Pixelpost community at large prefers. Also, if there is a specific reason why you prefer or think Pixelpost should include one framework over the other please post a reply below.

don't know alot about js frameworks,
three things might be interesting (talking out of my narrow mind .. )

• speed (afaik mootools an jquery are almost equal here ?)
  which is the most important thing to _me_ as i hate nothing more
  than lagging website caused by funny js stuff.
• nice to devel.. well that's your part =)
• available functions (well, that's nearly same as above), but one might take
  into account if there's a need for every possible functionality.

voting for jquery to keep the race up and running =)

I know some people prefer other frameworks, but when you consider that we are putting large images on our sites, the small size of JQuery is very nice.

I prefer mootools, probably because I know it best

I guess it all comes down to personal preference when the technical details are subtle.

Getting an unbiased answer to this from developers is tricky, because most have an affinity with one in particular and prefer not to change. Having said that, I now use jQuery having first dabbled with mootools, and while both are ideal candidates for inclusion within pixelpost, I prefer to use jQuery for its ease of use and fantastic CSS manipulation logic.

I've also found that jQuery support and plugins to be in plentiful supply.

I'm curious as to why you would consider using a javascript framework in pixelpost - are you thinking of the admin backend as opposed to front end presentation?

Yes, it would most likely be used in the admin portion. It makes sense to use a framework that the addon creators will be familiar with, that way they won't have to include their own JavaScript framework on top of the included one. Also, template creators could include the bundled framework as well, if they wanted to avoid including their own.
