Hi, I'm starting using the darkmatter free pixelpost template
but I have noticed (with the Web Inspector, a Safari function) that it seems that ALL the thumbnails are loaded when accessing the homepage, which causes a slow homepage of course. Is there a way to only load all the thumbnails when someone is clicking on "Gallery"? Because I have 441 photos and it takes a long time for people to load the homepage (see http://www.oscense.com/). Thanks a lot for your help. |

It would be best to get in touch with the template developer.
From what I can see, the reason for all the thumbnails loading on the photo page is due to the thumbnail slider. FWIW, your photoblog loaded quite fast for me. I did see all the thumbnails loading but it looks like they begin to load once the page is rendered.

Thanks for your answer, yes I've contacted the developer as well. It was just in case someone would knew the answer.
I think that in case of the thumbnail slider it would be possible to load only the 5 or 10 first thumbnails or something like this... Well I'll see if the developer answers something or someone posts a "trick" but if to you the loading time is correct, it's a good point. Thanks again. |
