brand new user here, very confused

I have no idea how to dig this out of the FAQ or the Wiki... I just loaded pixelpost up and I've got all my pictures and the comments, etc working. However, I simply cannot figure out how to edit the default "about" page. I want to put in some info about my pictures and some links to related sites. I've been researching through the admin panel for the third time now, I simply have no clue what to do. I've never worked with php before, only html. So, if anyone could give me a shove in the right direction or a hint on how to find the documentation to fix this I would really appreciate it.

Hi coolhatvendor,
There is no admin backend way of changing your about page. The about page is just a simple html page, so just edit the text in your usual text editor and upload again.

Hmmm, that's what I had assumed but I can't find an about.html page in my file manager. I'll check again... This is really strange.

What you should be looking for and need to edit is the about_template.html file

i can relate as ive been there, and its taken hours upon hours of searching the web and experimenting. first, id suggest you download two programs: cyberduck (ftp client) and smultron (html/css editor). they are MUCH FASTER than working from the file manager at your host website. once you're going into your files, go to the folder of the template that you are using (horizon? simple?) which is located in the templates folder. there you will see the image, about, browse, and comment_template.html files. you'll need to go in and edit the html. smultron is a great html editor, as it displays text in various colors so you have an idea of what's what. as far as knowing html, you'll just have to do your field research. but it should be easy to look at the default text and just insert your own.
