The offer of helping to transfer a pixelpost blog to the new host (you), is what has me looking into this. Just have to wait till my new domain registers before I take the next step (24h). Can you guys also provide assistance in moving my wordpress files? (as I don't really know what i need to bring, all the mysql files it makes etc.)

hey man..
if you are using cPanel, that really shouldn't be a problem.
if you have any other questions or comments, feel free to ask.

cheers.

Well, I made the switch and am currently pretty happy. The Wordpress move was the pain, sql databases were a mess, and never rendered right on the new server. Ended up just exporting blogger posts (I still duel posted) and that was flawless and simple. The Pixelpost move was simple. Uploaded the software, then implrted the old sql data, and it worked right away. Almost to easy.

one question: how would I go about setting my blog as thisyear.ca and my pixelpost as photos.thisyear.ca

cheers.

you set your blog to your root or regular directory, and setup a subdomain for your pixelpost. Im sure rodney or the e2 crew over IM/email can run you through it. Dont fear asking them for support, they are awesome at helping out

Good you got it all setup though, its a pain to do it manually no matter what

humm...you used to be able to go to cpanel.net and try their demo, but i cant seem to find it

e2 should swing by soon though and give you a heads up, they might just be cleaning it up

We really can't put a demo up as it is too venerable to abuse.

But if you have used cPanel, it is the same as any other, very easy to use.
