Someone willing to host a small CRON job for me?

I've never really neede this feature before, but I do now... I'v made a music listing of the songs I've listened to and I have to parse a XML feed every once every tenth minute... The script will then parse the XML file and compare it to the database on my server, if there's anything new, it'll add it to the database, if nothing is new, the script wont do nothing...

Short summary:

How often: Every tenth minute
Required space for the script: 3kb
Required space for storage of results: 0 kb

If I can do something in retribution just tell me

Optismistic regards

so all you need is for somebody to host an xml file for you? am i right? if that's all it is i'll be happy to oblige. I have 5gb of bandwith but I only use about a 5th of that.

also, why can't you host this yourself?

Sorry if I was unclear... I need someone to host a php script... The script will parse the XML file and if there's any new content, it'll add it to the DB..

The script should be executed every tenth minute...

Hm.. I've no idea... But the script will load the XML feed, look for new songs played and if there's any new songs played in the feed, it will add it to the database... What host do you have? ..I'll check it out and see if I can figure it out...

ok. i had this problem with running the script... something up with your database:

Quote:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client in /home/jspurlin/public_html/fish/audioscrobbler_parse.php on line 27
Error: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client
or my server? one or the other i have a feeling doesn't trust the other. either my server doesn't trust your database or your database doesn't trust my server... i think it's the later.

doh.. The script is working fine from my server, and I've tried it in several folders, so it's not that...

I'll try writing a script that will execute a script on my server... So that the script you put up is plain php and only tells the script on my server to run...

I have no idea how to do it, but I'll do some googling and see what I can do

I'll write back in a few days...
