not really, but my first time down on the sideline with the big boys I guess you could say....pretty new to indoor sports photography.

Wow, those are some really great shots..
I've been meaning to go down to the gym to shoot a basketball game or something at my college. Seeing your photos just might be the inspiration I need to actually do it..

Strange how I guessed you were using a 20D, then i saw it in your about section..
That is one nice camera, very low noise.
What ISO were you shooting at in those photos? had to be over 200-400.

800 on the right side of the court and 1600 on the left...lighting made a pretty dramatic change when I switched sides. She handles noise very very well. Everyone else there was shooting on nikons so for once I was unique...hehe

I love the camera...she never and i mean NEVER leaves my side

thanks for the comments...

ahhh, the age old argument of which is better, Canon or Nikon.

In the end, all they really are is names.

no...85 f/1.8 (AWESOME lens)

the 70-200 f4 cannot handle indoor sports, the 70-200 f/2.8 can but its out of my price range for the IS version right now...i prefer primes for their clairity per $ and fast AF speed in not having to deal with the parfocal issues of focusing...not having to zoom in or out and focus at the same time can mean a lot when things are moving fast...and with 8mp and high res i have a little room to crop if needed...but for web shots outside portfolio work I just stick to the standard 4:6 aspect to keep things uniform

here is my latest set...

back to back mens and womens games yesterday...its still break so once again the crowd was DEAD...what a suprise

Awesome shots!
Lets just say first that I am Canadian. But #5 is my favorite of these ones. The DOF is perfect. Great work!
