Simple comment spam stopper

Would it be possible to simply refuse any comments that include more than 2 or 3 links? I think this would stop most comment spam in a very clean way. (Maybe Bad Behavior has the featured already??).

WordPress can force any comment with 2 or more links to be moderated. I have never had anyone post more than 2 links in a comment except for spammers. I would be interested in an addon or hack like this. Moderation isn't necessary, by the way, if I can just trash comments with "x" number of links or more.

I had my first massive comment spam attack today. (The capcha addon never worked for me because of some bug that stopped occassional real people from commenting.)

v1.5 has a comment moderation option...the beta should be public remotely soon. We'll look into the wordpress moderation system for this type of spam.

in 1.5 there is room for that but the code is not written to count number of links inside the comment. if you have a simple PHP code for that I'll add this too.

I'm so glad you guys are addressing this in 1.5. The captcha doesn't work well for me, either, and the spammers are driving me nuts. You all are awesome.

Sorry, I don't write code (but I'm a decent cut and paster). I'm pretty sure that a simple addition that will prohibit comments with greater than "x" number of links will stop some of the worst comment spammers. Maybe someone else would be willing to write this??

I'd also love to see a stable capcha built into 1.5 ...

If you don't mind, any idea when 1.5 will be ready?

as far as i can tell the best way in the end to stop comment spam is to simply include the comment page in a popup... i've NEVER had comment spam.

Good point Joe[y]... I never had comment spam either. That may be the reason.
