Critique of colors...

howdy,

I'm working on my template. One of the first things I'm working on is the color scheme... I was using the colors I had for my current home page (not finished) at http://www.mikelangelo.com/ and using them by updating the simple template for my blog at http://www.mikelangelo.com/blog/

I just realized the colors I'm using might be distracting to the photos themselves. Do you think this is a problem... should I update the colors so the images are shown against white, black or gray?

Thanks for thoughts...once I figure out colors, I hope to play a lot more with the rest of the template.

i think its a little too much green, more of a beige would be kinda nice i think, and an olive'ish green i think...great scheme when those two are mixed

i think it's currently working quite well with your photos. but yeah - it is a bit strong.. it should be mellowed out a bit.

I concur with the others... nice complementary colours.. just a little too strong.

I really like the layout design.

Thanks guys.. You've been very helpful. You've hit on one of the things I thought might be a problem. Thanks!

I really like your logo and splash page.

I feel that the colors may be 'coloring' the photos, possibly bringing out those tones in the photo. That's why I normally prefer a neutral grey to frame the photos. Maybe a white frame around the photo may help separate the tones of the photos from the background. Or if you want to keep the yellow it might be better with a darker tone. I really like your logo and splash page.
