On the Hill

Houses on a hill, beyond point park. the windows on the building to the far right look kind of cartoony?

zoom in and focus

This would be much better if you could have zoomed in on the building
to make it more obvious. Also, its a bit blurry and the "flat" sky and
lack of color doesn't do much to improve it.

BTW - I know this building well, having been a Pittsburgher for a long time.
It might look cool at night with some light coming from those odd windows,
try a long exposure - with a tripod - in the early evening when there is
still a bit of color in the sky and people have their lights on in the building.

Try to concentrate on the composition and the lighting - IMO, those are the most important parts of making a picture "work". In this case, the composition is kind of weak - there is too much of the sky and trees and the eye sort of wanders around looking for a focal point to settle on. The other distracting element of this one is the lack of overall sharpness, I don't know how much post-processing you did, but try using some sharpening and contrast-adjustments to make things "pop" a little more. picasa2 is nice (free) tool for doing basic post-processing stuff.

Good luck and keep working at it. I make tons of shots and usually only find one or two that I really like.

Hahaha its all good man, take the critiques as guides and you'll be shooting pictures that get constant praise in no time, and trust me, it's going to take a lot of rolls of film
