Pictures Not Showing UP

I just got Pixelpost installed and all is working, except my pictures won't show up. They show up with a deadlink. The image path is set correctly on the options tab and the picture is in fact there. I even have played around with the permissions of the picture itself. Currently the images folder and the thumbnails folder are both set to 777 and I even set the image to 777. Any ideas?

we have many ideas for this, as this is one of the most common situations, it can have many reasons:

no right permissions, no correct image-path

if you search the forum, you will find many postings for this..

But I found the reason:

your images are there, everything is correct, when you use this link:

http://www.davidmaki.net/photoblog/pixelpost/

so your subdomain-configuration is wrong!

which image-path is configured in admin-section/options?

the img src is pointing to the right file but the permissions are still wrong. perhaps not on the images folder but on the files themselves. what is the chmod for the individual image files?

Joe[y], if the images are there if the blog is not called via subdomain, but directly, it can't be a problem of the permissions, and dmaki also wrote that he even set the file-permissions to 777

it's just that the subdomain "photoblog" will not find the images through the images-path

www.davidmaki.net/pixelpost finds the images...

I suggest to watch the file permissions for reading and Apache .htaccess file configuration!!

@ Connie : http://photoblog.davidmaki.net/pixelpost/images/ does show the images up and this is where the src was linked to. but each file has 'forbidden access' - but either way i think Geos is right.

I can open the pixelpost using the URL http://www.davidmaki.net/photoblog/pixelpost/

I see the images

so I am right with my opinion that when calling from subdomain "photoblog.davidmaki.net" instead of "www.davidmaki.net/pixelpost" the permissions are wrong, but only when using the subdomain

ok. fair enough Connie. sorry - i had only tried http://davidmaki.net/photoblog/pixel...olor_canoe.jpg to test out the subdomain. forgot www.... durrr! hehe
