asking the community

Hi folks,

I'm asking the community to figure out how far it has gone.

Did you hear recently in the media that Iran is threatening Israel and the world. Did you see Iranian people in the news that came into streets and asking for destruction of Israel?

I'm curious about the image that the media has depicted for Iranian people. You might know that Tehran has almost 10 million residents and the people that came into street are not even 10% of them. The scilent majority is watching what the Iranian television reports about them and the world media is reacting toward them.

Please, tell me what you see/hear about Iran in recent days.

Ramin,

all german media, all news were full with that topic
and Iran has no good standing in western Europe

nobody likes to differ between people and government, because of the fanatic Khomeini times and now these anti-israel-marches

as I told you, "normal", by massmedia informed, western european people do not know that Iranians are an educated people with a sophisticated culture

they throw Al Quaida, fanatic muslimin, Iranians into one pot

sorry for that

not much news on the topic here, but I only get CNN in my room. Rosa-Parks died so that's the main topic going on right now, major icon in American Civil right history.

Americans are pretty ignorant on international news as a whole.

she did? i figured she had died a while back - thought she was reasonably old at the time - apparently not. bummer. it's crazy how such a small thing is remembered so long.

weird, US news.

I concur with Blinking8s. Rosa parks was a big deal. I live near Chicago and the White Sox just won the world series. So that's most of the news here...

As far as me, personally... I was pretty freaked out when I read about Iran's President's words... very bad news in my mind. Personally... I get a sense of lots of anger/hatred that I can't understand. So much hatred... I don't understand.

However, ...I understand that 1/3 of the worlds population doesn't want to start killing the other 2/3s. But I honestly don't know what the Iranian people as a whole think... no a clue. Even with a president like that... I still give the people the benefit of the doubt.

But back to blinking8s comment. Americans are very ignorant and we (in general) don't pay much attention to that sort of thing, until it bites us in the butt (aka, 9/11/2001).
