Scaturan, for someone with "a few hundred PixelPost installs" you don't pay much attention.
The v1.4.3 update is a bug fix, it addresses one specific and very important issue with comment spam. Here's a detailed changelog: version 1.4.3 - fixed comment spam bug The dev team are working HARD on the new v1.5 upgrade, trust me on that. I haven't even looked at the documentation, and i'm currently devoting most of my free time to developing for the platform. I personally don't see any issues. As for patch files versus full package releases. You only need to replace index.php, and update the hash in the includes/pixelpost.php file, it's not a big job. |

but where is this documented? there's no changelog.
PixelPost will never reach it's full potential if proper documentation is not made available. |

I just did a successful update by uploading the pixelpost.php to includes and index.php to the admin folder. Everything is working fine.
I also updated the wallpaper resize mod-- going to go repackage that and upload it. Thanks for making the fix-- I was really getting spammed a bunch. Hope this stops the assaults. |

There will be a changelog when there is a changelog. But it's unnecessary in the forum release because 1.4.3 exists as a direct response to posts ON the forum. Plus, the changelog was pretty much the contents of the initial post in this thread. It's a bug fix, the end. |

2 users have been infected, we're doing the best way can to save you from it... changelog from v1.4.2 to v1.4.3 - a few lines of code were added into the index.php comment form code near line like 250 or something like that (i dont actually know the lines off the top of my head, but i am guessing)...w00t thats about how complex the known fix was...yet, it's insanely important

All - I just uploaded all of the files necessary to install Pixelpost however I'm encountering an error I can't seem to figure out how to fix. When I pulled up the /admin/install.php file on my site, I get the following note: "Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/alechost/public_html/pixelpost/includes/pixelpost.php on line 38". I'm not a code person, so when I pulled up the file in Dreamweaver, line 38 was blank. Any ideas on how to fix this error (probably something very easy, but for a non-coder like me it's perplexing)? I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer.
Many thanks, Alec |

So, without trying to sound too blithering,..
Am I to understand that the only two files that need to be over-written for an upgrade from 1.4.2 to 1.4.3 is the main /index.php and the includes/pixelpost.php file? |
