Upgrade 1.3 - 1.4.3

Hi folks. I am way overdue to upgrade my favourite blogware, but I am a bit confused by the upgrade readme.

The notes describe how to upgrade 1.3 to 1.4.1 - and how to upgrade 1.4.1 to 1.4.2, and finally how to upgrade 1.4.2 to 1.4.3. However, I only have the 1.4.3 package. How can I do those intermediate steps? Is there no way for me to upgrade directly from 1.3 to 1.4.3?

to upgrade just go to admin panel on admin/install.php and follow the instructions

Not to be a sceptic. But backup first. Always backup before any major job.
(can you tell i've spent my entire day backing up because of some serious downtime coming soon)
