It seems from the numerous posts that there are a lot of people who are experiencing issues with keeping the full-sized image. I am also one of those people. Pixelpost is a great piece of software and I think this particular addon could do with some methodical updating.
I can understand that posting fixes in a forum can be helpful when laid out in clear, easy-to-follow instructions but there are people who use pixelpost who don't have a clue about editing source code or what a function is in php etc. I personally have had a lot of experience with php and I'm having as much trouble as Innbound is following the editing instructions. For example: Quote:
Code:
function admin_resizeimage() Code:
$keepfullsizeimage = TRUE; Can the updates that need to be applied be made to the .zip with a different version number etc. There's really no need to make individual users edit files like they're having to at the moment. By the same mentality users would be writing their own addon by the time they're read to the end of a forum thread. Either that or is there someone who could take the two minutes to write a brief specific guide of the changes that need to be applied? I hope no-one takes this as a flaming post, it isn't. It's just some constructive criticism on how bugs on this are being handled and where I think improvements can be made. I want pixelpost to get even better as much as the devs do!

That does it!!!
Here is a fixed zip file http://se.nsuo.us/contrib/admin_autoresize_1_1.zip There is just one line change in the addon file but it looks like several people are finding it too difficult to make/understand

So, it is possible to change the function to get resized images with a specific hight and not only a specific (anything) size(mostly the width)? (Because most offline resizing tools can this) Thank you!

I'm also using the pop3 addon, but the images I sent in using that addon aren't being resized. When I upload them through the pp admin panel everything works fine.

Has anyone manages to get this to work when posting using the pop3 addon?

Ok, I was going crazy with this addon too, and it just wouldn't work, despite my having followed exactly all the instructions in this thread.
It works now, however, after I uploaded the version that se.nsuo.us provided. I was getting tripped up because it said "Keeping the fullsize image too? YES!". But now it says "Keeping the fullsize image too? NO!" and it DOES NOW keep the fullsize image. Is that an incorrect label or am I just in opposite-land? |
