some help (needed)

so i think i'm terribly out of my league with this program.

but i was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of installing mysql databases on my server, and any other texts that might be helpful. because i'm so very lost when it comes to this mysql business, and it seems that if i get that figured out, i'd have the rest set.
