Cache EXIF to DB (PP 1.5 ONLY!!!)

As seen from the discussions at http://forum.pixelpost.org/showthread.php?t=3103 the EXIF extraction process in Pixel Post creates a needless load and delay on the server - this addon is an attempt to solve the problem by caching the EXIF data in a table when the image is uploaded OR viewed for the first time. My results show that this can make Pixel Post upto 3 times faster however do note that this speed is in milliseconds and will not be appreciable to most

Disable the default EXIF handling in Pixelpost 1.5 by commenting out the stuff between
index.php:439 and index.php:549

If you want that the EXIF data should be deleted when a picture is deleted then add a workspace to the image_edit.php. Near the end of action x=delete add

@devs - we really need a workspace here any addon which uses image_upload will also use image_deleted

Please note editing the core files is not a good idea generally - so do it only if you know what you are doing and can keep track of all the modifications you have done

Would it be possible to have an admin interface for editing EXIF info in the database? It would allow those of us that use nikons can fill in the missing info. Or those that shoot film can scan in photos but still have the exif info available.

Yes the Addon can be expanded to do what you want - only if someone would do it
