simple day-solution

there is a way of avoiding this spam in ip black-list, but i still did not manage myself do some plugin for it. and i don't know if pixelpost developers are working on something like that.

so, when the referer spam is too high, i run this sql:

delete from pixelpost_visitors where ip='69.26.164.2' or ip='192.115.106.236' or ip='63.65.68.27' or ip='62.225.236.154' or ip='12.223.68.10' or ip='217.235.127.84' or ip='80.58.34.237' or ip='66.213.97.12' or ip='4.11.66.77' or ip='205.177.123.187' or ip='206.161.205.73' or ip='217.27.95.133' or ip='202.38.50.20' or ip='219.122.10.41' or ip='203.195.147.23' or ip='212.88.141.206' or ip='131.109.28.253' or ip='213.206.85.141' or ip='66.159.220.231' or ip='62.161.112.140' or ip='129.186.121.29' or ip='211.13.208.132' or ip='210.172.101.62' or ip='65.26.41.47' or ip='163.17.101.125' or ip='83.151.29.239' or ip='82.191.154.100' or ip='210.172.101.62' or ip='202.144.98.235' or ip='67.109.95.228' or ip='203.97.97.131' or ip='80.79.225.229' or ip='82.182.78.122' or ip='62.161.112.140' or ip='202.168.65.70' or ip='163.17.101.125' or ip='213.92.68.179' or ip='131.109.28.253' or ip='24.162.46.24' or ip='82.226.197.121' or ip='213.41.152.199' or ip='163.17.101.125' or ip='222.126.125.138' or ip='65.197.28.170' or ip='212.100.163.214' or ip='82.141.204.211' or ip='63.241.72.171' or ip='68.72.56.132' or ip='208.187.165.105' or ip='192.115.106.236' or ip='195.113.101.218'

but i have to update this list every time there appears new spaming ip address. hope this will help someone.

Is there some progress with this addon?

The spam urls are really beginning to annoy me.

These ips spam german urls:

delete from pixelpost_visitors where ip='80.58.20.172' or ip='84.146.118.52' or ip= '84.146.53.208'

I would very much appreciate if somebody could do something about it.

Sorry, wasn't precise.

I don't mean comment but referrer spamming. I guess the only solution is to have an ever growing blacklist and exclude the referrer via .htaccess.

Or to stop making the referrer public in the referer_template.html

I know it's kind of an egotrip to publish the referrer, but it's much more comfortable to look at the comment links in the referrer page than click on them in the comment page, as this pagesize is fixed and the links won't open in a new window. But that's another problem.

Sorry, this was supposed to make it into the 1.4 release, but got missed somehow. If you modify the line in index.php

Code:
$referer_print .= "<li><a href='$referer'>$numb     $referername</a></li>";
to

Code:
$referer_print .= "<li><a href='$referer' rel='external nofollow'>$numb     $referername</a></li>";
It will prevent referers from ranking in the search engines. It won't stop the spam, but it make sure it does them no good. To remove the referers completely, we will need to add a blacklist in version 1.5. For now, you can just delete the rows from the table as mentioned above.

I will start to update the comment-spam-feature next week (I am so busy traveling all the time, after Moscow will be Berlin soon, a wedding....)
my family is not big, but very widespread...

so for the comment-spam we will have an updated version (if it needs an update, I did not test yet) soon

for the referrer we must think about

Connie, this is great news. I finally upgraded to 1.4.1 the other day and this is the only thing I was not able to make run, and I was just about to post the question to the forum when I found this thread. As the 'addon' section is not back up, I was wondering how far you've gotten withit meanwhile?

Hope you enjoyed visiting your family!
