i'd like to see it unprocessed as well for some reason just to compare. I think black and white may be a solid option for this one though.

it's nice but i don't think much of the areas of overexposure i'm afraid. ie, the arms the top of the head and the sky.

the most of over exposed areas come from the post-processings.

i think you could have done more with this image personally...

for one the distractions in the background such as the hut and whatever those are emerging above the right (camera viewpoint) shoulder are annoying. adopting an entirely different vantage point would have been ideal in my opinion - possibly lower and directly opposite the sculpture.

it looks fairly overcast (am i right?) so the lighting isn't great and you can see that in the details (or lack of) but there's nothing you could have done about that.

as for your manipulation i agree that monotone is the best in this case but i don't like what you've done with the light - i'd prefer to simply see more contrast perhaps.

hope that helps. by the way, nice sculpture.

Monotone definetly looks good in this case, however im not really bothered by the hut in the left hand side of the shot, I think it adds a little. I personally liked your original shot with the exception of the top part of the scultures heads being way to overexposed (as well as the right shoulder). Nice shot for the photoblog, different and adds a little spice.

Yeah, it was fairly overcast. I'd made few more shots with some different angles and exposures. Here is another shot with different manipulations

I like that one a little more, no detail lost in the shoulder or heads, the (kind of ) vignette works well here, maybe crop it in a little (lot of "empty space" towards the bottom), but I definetly like this. Good to see the detail in the sculture too. I think this exposure is better ,and angle (looks like a slightly different angle) but I liked your post processing on the first shot more. (Minus the overexposed parts).
