it lacks the contrast i think is so magical with IR. but it's definetely a good attempt.

def a solid start...but especially if its digital IR, you are going to have to figure out a workflow in photoshop to figure out how to get them to look the way they are supposed to

http://www.visualrealia.com/ has some infrared nauture stuff - the trees seem to vary but on the whole blossoming trees are much lighter.

well, on some digital cameras you can get a filter (canon g3 was known for this), on cameras like the 20d you need the filter, but it cuts out the viewfinder so you are shooting blind, the colors and stuff dont come out right so you need to dev a process to tone the rest in PS.
They make IR film though...

Thanks for the comments. This was done with a hoya r72 filter I bought a few days ago. I had a lot of problems w/bright shots in the center of a lot of my first shots. I really like how the sun was breaking through the clouds and lighting the mountain but it is lacking that really cool punch that you see in a lot of other IR shots. I was really hoping for that high contrast feel and it turned out kinda flat.
I hear that the s9000 filters too much Ir to get really clean shots but I'm going to keep trying different speeds/aperture/white balance combos and see if I can make it better. I need some advice, any ideas? Thanks Aaron www.postedpixels.com |
