Addon: Random Image Link

I've an addon for this
This addon will enables the tag

<IMAGE_RANDOM>

which is a the ID of a random image of your Pixelpost photoblog. Using this ID you can link to a random images easily.

Usage:

<a href='index.php?showimage=<IMAGE_RANDOM>' > Random photo </a>

The above tag links to your photoblog with a random photo.

Update: this tag is now availabe on all page of pixelpost photoblog.

Is it also possible to show it as an image and not just like a link? I want to display a random image on my blog, that is why :wink:

is it possible to define random thumbs to be shown out of a specific category?
for example, for the about page i would like to have random thumbs only from category "personal".
what modifications of the addon would be necessary?

Sorry if this amounts to the guy who can't figure out why his computer doesn't work until someone tells him he must turn it on, but...

When I try this addon I get the following error:

The requested URL /$PHP_SELF was not found on this server.

I've put the random_image.php file in my addons folder and it shows up as an installed addon in the admin. Other than deleting the spaces on either side of "random photo" the line of code on my page is exactly correct.

Any thoughts?

fauxtog: just replace $PHP_SELF with your root php file, which is most probably index.php.
