Question Multi-File-Uplaod (not a batch)

It is possible, or better i say have already someone implement a multi-file-upload like in coppermine?

In coppermine i can upload up to six photos in one go and then (as part of the same process) i have to enter the title, and description for the photos(one after one) while i see a thumb of each photo.

I have made screenshots...

If someone have an idea how to implement this in pixelpost, please help.

Thank you

Patrick

to make Patrick's question clear:

he does not ask for importing from a webfolder (like Copyfolder AddOn), he wants to upload all files directly from the client to the server

he wants to spare the step inbetween (uploading with FTP to a server folder, importing to PP from that folder)

That is possible just like adding more then "only" 6 pics. But does it reallrey have sense?
It is possible to add new fields dynamicly through JS but remember - more pics take longer to upload what can mean getting maxium executation time and only partial upload.

Since I wrote a significant part of that Coppermine code I can attest that actually using that feature is pain in a sensitive part of the anatomy and it takes fair amount of getting used to.

If PP has to go multiple upload way I would recommend using some other work flow....

In my opinion it should be at most addon not main functionality of core software.

GeoS,

you are right.

It is also against the spirit of PP, mass presentation is something for Flickr etc.
if somebody has a huge amount, it should only be to upload when migrating.. not all the time
so he can use Copyfolder that one time!

A photo is too precious to be uploaded in BULK!

Just one thing, i wanted to upload my archive of my site, and i tried using the copyfolder thing then, but i couldn't use autoresize on them then, so i had to upload them manually.

Ubbe,

yes for administrational reasons it is good to have such possibilities..
we must collect the pros and cons..

maybe somebody will write an addon for that?

But I fear a lot of hoster problems, with timeouts uploading so many files, file-upload is always limited, compared to FTP..
FTP can also re-submit broken uploads etc.

maybe I look to black into future (german-english..) but I fear a lot of problems for the users out there...
how shall a small script re-invent all the topics which are done better by FTP? written by programmers, non-volunteer programmers mostly...

just my 5 cents..
