Controlling Spam

I have checked through the addon downloads for spam control and among others found the one at this site:

However, I notice that they are for version 1.5 of PixelPost. What can be done to eleviate spam for version 1.4.3 ?

I can't find it now, but I read where one person had lost all photos when they upgraded to 1.5 version and I'm just not up to the upgrade right now.

I've heard somewhere that one person had lost his life when he was driving! Then I'm just not up to the driving any automobile right now...

My best suggestion is to upgrade to 1.5 RC1. don't be afraid the 1.5 is the most stable version Pixelpost ever had!

ALWAYS make backups BEFORE upgrading. That's the key. BTW, the upgrade script dont even come to one million miles of touching images and thumbnail scripts. That person you have mention has deleted the image by his/her faults.

I was also worried upgrading, so I made a test version of my photoblog - the whole things runs in a sub-directory and all I use it for us testing upgrades and add-ons before I add them to my main photoblog. As it was though - the upgrade process was less hastle than I thought it would be.

And by the way - nice photoblog! Brilliant pictures!

Thank you both for your input and thanks for the compliment on my own photoblog. I set up a site on another domain as a test site and I'll upgrade to the latest version and use it for addons as you say you have done. Sounds like a good plan. It would be bad enough to lose info and/or pics on my own site, but a disaster to lose them on the site of a client.
