17" is well out of my budget but the 13" white 2GHz mb with expanded 1gig ram will do me just fine

It sure looks nice. I'll jealous if you get it. report back to the forum if you get it! I'm curious to know how PS runs on it since it's not going to run native until the end of the year or early 07.

17" just defeats the reason for me needing a laptop...those things are HUGE. I guess if I just wanted a mobile desktop that would be my choice though. Straight from home to office...but I'm out and about and it has to fit in the photo bag.

I'm gunning for the 15" Pro close to fully loaded...but the price of these new macbooks might tide me over. I have to see these new keyboards and glossy screen in person though.

I want the 17" because besides photography I'm working with 3D modeling and animation. the extra screenspace is invaluable! Otherwise, the 15" would be marvy! Heck...even the macbooks look great!

I think I've decided to get the 17" myself. As a graphic designer the additional screen size/resolution will be nice. Even better when I add an extra 20" cinema display down the road as they share the same max resolution.

One thing keeping me away from the 15.4" is all the complaints about heat and noise. I was able to test out the 15 on the weekdn though and it's a pretty sweet machine.

ive spent a LOT of time in the local mac store...they all run hot, very hot. hotter than any machine ive ever used. def not meant for use in your lap...get a desk, or a cooling pad to put betweek it and yourself as a heat shield, maybe some of the tiles the shuttle uses for heat deflection during re-entry...prob pick those up on ebay and pad the bottom of the machine with them and some super glue...lol
