Photos from Lebanon the former Paris of Mid-east

Please don't open this link if you are SENSETIVE. These real pictures are from LEBANON war that CNN never shows you. Do you think who is responsible for this GENOCIDE?

pretty gruesome. it is a mess. it's hard to believe that israel really is only targetting Hezbollah - the way it looks is that they plan to wipe out the whole country... which will obviously totally eradicate the problem in the country - but there won't be a country left at this rate. what annoys me is despite this, the UN isn't supporting the ceasefire, it seems mainly because of Bush who says it's all Hezbollah's fault but whoever's fault it is - it shouldn't be sorted out like this. Israel should be offering support to the lebanese government rather than crippling them as well in this process. c'est la vie.

Today or yesterday Syria said some words about their freedom. If Israels soldiers come too close to the border Syria will interpret it as war.

i cant get to it...grrr...this isp sucks

ive been to lebanon before, one of my favorite places...its a shame to see it being destroyed like this. i think there is a level of ignorance on both sides and this beautiful place is caught in the middle. its sad that the us gov't has such a financial interest with isreal too, making it publically have to pick sides, and then weighted by its war on terror so isreal is by far more appealing to the general public here...

What a load of crap

FTA:
"Hey Israel, You missed one!" (next to a picture of a child)
"Thank You" UN, USA, Europe, Canada, France, UK & The "Arab World"

That is stupid. Israel is not out to kill civilians.

If Lebanon wants out of this, they can stop harboring terrorists and terrorist organizations. It is a shame that children and innocent people are killed, I agree, but the Lebanese people vote their leaders into office (by majority) and so, they are ultimately to blame for sponsoring Hezbolah. If they didn't want Hezbolah there, they would elect new leaders who would "clean house". Muslims need to start showing some respect to Israel and cut ties with their militant brothers and sisters.

Wait a minute...the Koran tells them to kill those who aren't Muslim (yes, i've read it). So, I guess it is Hezbollah that is actually doing what they are taught by their religion isn't it? Oh well, then I guess they won't stop...bombs away. I hate to sound heartless, but they just won't listen to reason.

That's the stupiest thing I ever heard! The Koran DOES NOT tell to kill everyone who isn't a muslim! I suppose you DID NOT read the Koran!

that's a typically western response to the situation which i seem to be hearing by everyone around me.... but if you check the facts lebanon has done nothing to 'harbor' terrorists... in fact, the majority of weapons and resources used by many of these terrorists can be traced right back to their origins in the US where they have been corruptedly exported.

you'd be right in saying that the lebanese government hardly committed itself to raids on the hezbollah centres - but consider this... if israel is having so much trouble then what chance would lebanon have stood.

whoever you want to throw blame on there is no denying that what israel is doing (good or bad) is primarily distabilising the lebanese government which in the long run will only lead to worse troubles.

it would be naive to say that military action is always wrong - but i think in this case it's a step too far and the american government shouldn't be supporting the israelis like they are and should rather be looking for a ceasefire and another solution. the british government here isn;t much better... actually it was only this week that our foriegn affairs minister almost revolted against the prime minister over the support for the israelis:

"Disproportionate action only escalates an already dangerous situation."

and to back up an earlier point:

"One of many serious concerns I have is that the continuation of such tactics by the Israelis could further destabilise the already fragile Lebanese nation."

it's not often anybody in a british government stands up against american policy so there must be some strong clashes in opinion forming. something this thread will probably highlight :P

have you got even a clue how israeli children are raised in schools? just the same - they are told that the muslims are rejecting the jewish establishment unreasonably and are thus EVIL...both cultures claim to be so different but they are really the same - fuelled by hatred of eachother. being from a western background it's too easy to immediately pull up ranks alongside the israelis, especially following 9/11 etc.

western prejudice is if anything stronger than eastern prejudice... you highlighted that yourself with your hasty remarks about literal translation of the koran... i used to school in a very muslim area... i swear everyone of them would have physically been sick at your ignorant remark about killing non-muslims.

Nope! I did! Take this nice little piece for example, from the Acessions in the Koran 8:12
Quote:
When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.
He's talking about those who don't believe and worship Allah. It is actually an order from the Koran to the Muslims. That would be Jews, Christians, and anybody not Muslim. Have you read it?

They themselves take it literally. As a devout Muslim if the Koran is just a story, or if they believe it is true. If it isn't literal...what's the point.

I agree with you to some extent. There are better ways to go about this and peace should be the first attempt to solve problems, but how many times has Israel held back from doing this? They are tired of being attacked. They've been persecuted for thousands of years and it's payback time. Justice sucks for those who do wrong, we can't help that. When bad people do bad things...innocent people die. Over time, how many would die if Israel doesn't handle this? How many people would go to a cafe for lunch and get blown up by some idiot with a bomb strapped to himself?

And what does my being American have to do with anything? I support Israel, but I do that on my own. Israel doesn't come over here and blow up our stuff, but Muslim terrorists do. That is a fact. They outright declare their own holy war on us. How are they not my enemy? It makes me mad, and it makes me sad. I forgive them for my part, and I hope they change, but it appears they aren't going to change on their own.
